So..let’s get right to it….work is calling (I’m trying not to answer – haha).
Friday night Amy and I headed out to the Union Street Café in Berwick to meet up with Kale (I met him thru Brad). It was open mic night and he was singing and invited me out. We had some drinks and chatter and eventually Jenn showed up with her coworkers and it was a big party. Kale played “The Weight” by The Band which made me very happy. We had too much fun (and too much wine) and before I knew it….ha! You’ll have to ask!!
After the place closed Jenn and Amy and I hit Subway really quick (yes, I flaked on the boys asking me to come home with them….a girl’s gotta eat!) and then we walked back to Jenn’s and hung out with Shawn and Nate for a bit – chatting and watching John Denver in concert. Yup, they know how to party in B’erk!
Saturday morning Jesse woke me up way too early and then she and Shawn popped over with the kidletts for a visit (and she went shopping in my closet!). Then I met up with Amy at Tim’s for coffee. We did a little shopping and then headed over to the beach where we relaxed in the sun for some time and then headed home. I made Saturday night “Sandy time” – boring, I know…but I was tired from the night before and the sun.
Sunday I headed over to Cat’s for a visit and then Amy met me there. We headed to the beach again w/Jamie in tow. He and Cat walked along the mud while Amy and I perfected our sun-goddessness. Eventually Cat and the boy headed home for a nap and Amy and I layed around for a while longer then headed home. I’m certain Sunday night was boring too…watched a movie and hit the sack.
But be cautious, y’all – this weekend is Apple Blossom. Be prepared for lots of stories…at least what I can remember!
I need to get this done as quickly as possible as I am finally back to being swamped at work. Finally.
So, Friday night I was supposed to have a movie date with my friend Daryl but it got postponed. So, instead I hopped in my car and headed to the City as Victoria was taking her mom (Donna) to a movie and asked me to come as well. Why not? It beats doing nothing on Friday and I didn’t have a lot of extra energy. So, the three of us watched Shrek the Third. Miss Vic loved it. It was fun. After the movie and a really short visit I headed back to the Valley and to my bed which was calling my name.
Saturday I went to Cat’s to hang with her and the boy for a bit and then she and I had to run a few errands while Jamie stayed with Grace. Cat always makes me giggle. Kinda makes me wish I hadn’t thrown things at her in high school (again Cat, I apologize for being a bitch)!
In the evening I went to a party in Hantsport with Tanya and Jeff. It was a good time. Gotta love sitting around chatting with people and listening to them strum away on guitars and sing. AND I was “forced” to sing too. Gotta love not giving a shit and just belting it out! Haha.
Sunday I had a date with Jesse and Quinn. Jesse and I had lunch and shopped a bit. Then we went for a little drive and were lot lizards for a bit while we were passing time and Quinn was sleeping in the back.
In the late afternoon Tanya & Jeff came over for a visit and then I spent the rest of the evening doing a whole lotta nothing. Boring!
Monday sucked! No one was home and I was too tired to do anything. So I didn’t. In the evening I headed over to Cat’s again and played with Jamie for a bit – got him good and wound up before bed. And then back home to the shit hitting the fan. Don’t ask. I prefer to remain oblivious for the next little bit, thank you.
This weekend is bound to be a good one.
What a weekend! Friday night Amy K., Ames and I headed to Boston Pizza to see Har-Money Made (Kevin Davison’s band). We arrived early to have dinner and drinks and Suzanne (Rod’s fiance) stopped by to have a drink with us. Lots of wine = Sandy talking non-stop. You should all prepare yourselves if you’re heading out with me.
Ran into Greg Whynot (who owns BP). He sat w/us and he and I chatted and reminisced about being bus buddies back in high school.
Eventually we moved over to the lounge side of the restaurant when the band was starting. What a hoot! Met up with tons of people I haven’t seen or talked to in years. Kinda ridiculous. Danced. Sang. Got hit on. Got my ass grabbed and everything. Oh, weekends in the Valley. And to top off the evening, Kevin played me a Blue Rodeo song (think the Ding Dong vid, Tanya!!) – although he forgot the words part way thru and yelled that he was waiting for me to sing. Um, no. Not enough wine. 😛
Great night. Hugs and kisses to end it.
Saturday Amy and I dragged our asses up and grabbed lunch and did a little shopping but I was half hungover and half dying so in the late afternoon I dropped her off and decided it was nap time. Once I woke up Tanya and Elizabeth popped over for a short visit and then I headed out for my movie date w/Erica. It’s always nice to catch up with Erica. Lots of chatter and stories about Dean or the “old days.” On my way home I popped in to Tanya’s for a bit and visited…but it was so late and I was ready to drop so I made it a quick visit and headed home.
Sunday I had to meet up for a little fam jam for Mother’s Day. My parents, Terry & Cat, Cat’s parents and of course t he boy! Had a nice little lunch with them (although I was sick so I was counting down the minutes to leave) and then moved on. Picked up E. at a friend’s house in Kentville and then headed back to my place. Spent the afternoon in recovery on my couch and in the early evening headed down to the City w/Tanya to drop off E. and Donda – picked up Jeff along the way. Crowded car. But an interesting road trip – to say the very least. (Apparently I’m sorta being portrayed as a home-wrecker – even tho I have nothing to do with the whole scenario…if you want the full story you’re gonna have to ask me b/c it’s just not important enough for me to type all out. Oh the drama!!) Speaking of drama….Tanya helps E. lug her stuff into her apartment while I sit in the car and listen to Jeff tell me what’s up. Jeff puts hand on Sandy’s leg…Sandy shoots Jeff “the look” and says “move it” – Have never seen an arm move so quickly in my life. I refuse to contribute to the soap opera that is his life in Windsor. There’s enough of Melrose Place in my life now.
SO MUCH DRAMA!! (Besides, my heart is sorta on reserve for someone else these days.)
Anyway, that seems to be all I can remember from the weekend. Good thing or bad, it was fun.
I’m starting with Thursday again b/c Thursday seems to be more eventful than my Friday sometime.
So, Thursday evening I went to Jenn’s in Berwick. I ran into Nate (her roomie and the guy who had to pull over so I could get out and barf the last time I went w/Jenn) in the morning at the DMV and told him I’d be by that evening for dinner – but warned both him and Jenn both that I would not be drinking.
So, in the evening I get to Jenn’s and we have some much needed girl talk about the drama in my life while she made dinner. It’s so nice to catch up with her. In the midst of it all Nate had gotten in the shower and when he got out he just stood in the hallway w/nothing but his little burgandy towel on and grinning at me. I’m sure I blushed, and being the lady that I am (HAH!!), I turned my head the other way. He asked me if I wanted to see what was under his "dress" – I should have taken him up on that but instead persuaded him to get dressed. Gotta love them redheads!!
So, Jenn and Nate scoffed down their dinners while I took my time choking on the dressing w/5 cloves of garlic. I’m sure we all smelled lovely. After dinner Nate was our bitch and cleaned up while Jenn and I got settled to watch Dreamgirls." In the middle of the movie we had to run to the bank and then over to the restaurant for the guys. Quickly caught up with Kevin (the chef) and then back to Jenn’s to finish the movie. It was a great night!!
Friday I ran some errands and then completed the sale of my old Cavalier. I was sad to see her go but at least I know the lady who bought it (Amy’s mom) and will see it around). Ran some more errands and then home. I had intended to do something that evening but the darn phone wouldn’t stop ringing. First Melissa = 1 hour of conversation. Then Steph = close to an hour of conversation. Third Vanessa = 45 minutes or so of conversation. It was awesome to chat with everyone but there goes my evening. Finally, around 11pm I settled into the couch and put on a movie. Sandy time.
Saturday I picked up Tanya around lunch time as we had some things to do in New Minas. When I was going into her place Tommy (Brad’s friend) was coming out. I haven’t seen him in at least a year and a half and I’m certain he had no idea who I was. The last time he saw me I was driving a different car, had different color hair and was heavier. We spoke briefly and then I saw the lightbulb go on for him. Lol.
Tanya and I did some running around, stopped for "coffee" and then continued with our shopping. She asked me to help her pick out clothes = SANDY IN HER GLORY!! I had a ball. Lol. I think it may be my true calling. Sandy Pothier, Personal Shopper. After we finished shopping we grabbed a quick bite and then finished our errands and then back to my place. We had plans for the evening w/some friends so we decided to veg for a bit first. Finally, ready and time to go. Had to stop back at Tanya’s to drop off her laptop and pick up whatever. So, while I was in the car waiting Tommy came out and jumped in with me. We chatted for a good 20 minutes at least. He’s a nice guy. And very funny when he’s been drinking, which, clearly he had (he told me!).
We were offically late. Stopped in Hantsport to pick up Amy K. and then continued on to Dooly’s in Windsor to meet up Jeff, Becky and Chris. We had such a good time playing pool, taking photos and being goofy. Good wine!!
Finally, after a great night, it was time to go. On my way to drop Tanya off at her place we found her poor kitty Scrat in the road. He’d been hit by a car. Tanya was so upset. It was very sad. When we got back to her place I decided to run up and ask Tommy to give us a hand, since he was still up. We walked down to where the cat was and Tommy put it in a box. We then walked back to the house and buried it out back. Mind you, it’s pitch dark with only a pen light and it’s after 1 in the morning. Kinda creepy. But makes for an interesting story. See Tanya? Scrat didn’t die in vain.
Sunday – Hmm….I didn’t do too much. I think I vegged for a good part of the day. Went out for coffee with Tanya around supper time and later in the evening Steph came over for a visit. ‘Bout time since I hadn’t seen her since before she went to the DR. After she left I continued on in veg mode pretty much until it was time for bed.
And that, my dears, is all she wrote.
Have a great week!!
