Welcome to SANDYLAND!!

About

ABOUT ME?

I started blogging several years ago.  Just occasionally, but now I try to make my posts a bit more frequent.  Truth is, I love to blog.  I love to write.  And I love to tell stories…even if they’re about my mishaps (see Let Your Backbone Slide {Feb 2007} ).

Welcome to SandyLand!!

I’ve been called “The Social Butterfly” for years.  In fact, it’s my nickname with my Yahtzee Girls (along with Danger, but that’s another story).  At one of my first jobs I was “recruited” to be the social committee guru and the staff liason because of my Social Butterfly status (no seriously, that’s what they told me).

I love to read and over the last few years (again, see Let Your Backbone Slide ) I’ve decided that reading is much more productive than watching tv and surfing the ‘net.  I mean, let’s be honest, there’s not much to watch these days (I HATE REALITY TV – unless it’s Big Brother) and you can only take so much Facebook once the newness wears off.

And I love to cook.  I LOVE TO COOK.  So, although I’m not a food blogger I do food blog on occasion (see My Panini for my little slice of heaven).

I love to exercise.  Wait.  No, I’m addicted to exercise.  Unfortunately, my social schedule revolves around my workout regimes.  Which, yes, it’s a little sad but at least it’s a fairly healthy addiction.

I’d like to say “what happens in Port Vegas stays in Port Vegas” (aka The Port aka The reference to the place I live) but this is the internet and it’s 2011.  NOTHING IS SACRED.  So, read on, check back semi-frequently and beware because I will rant.  I will rave.  And you will (at times) laugh.

Cheers y’all.

~Sandy

True! Reading is a great escape and is better than TV and the Internet, though it’s easy to get sucked into the latter two at times. Reading allows me to get deep into my imagination to bring the characters to life.

Looking forward to seeing what your blog has to offer!

    • Hey ChangingMoods! Welcome to my blog. I’m giving you fair warning that I sometimes swear and sometimes get political and sometimes I’m just plain goofy. But hopefully you’ll find some humor in my posts or at the very least….a wee bit of entertainment. 🙂

I curse too…it’s a tough habit to break. I just know not to use it in certain environments! 😉

So don’t worry about it. It’s your blog, and you can post whatever you like!

  2. 🙂 Where are you located? I was looking for more information on your blog but couldn’t find anything. And you’re currently unemployed? What do you currently specialize in?

I deliberately don’t post that information because I want to remain anonymous online. I don’t want to be found out. I prefer some semblance of privacy.

  3. That is completely understandable. I was just curious as to who you were.

  4. “Unfortunately, my social schedule revolves around my workout regimes.”—I totally understand this. People will ask when I’m free and I always say “after I’m done exercising.” They say, “But you don’t HAVE to exercise.” Yes, yes I do. I like dessert too much not to.

  5. Haha! Good response. I wish I were one of those people who didn’t have to exercise but, alas, my genes are not that fortunate. 🙂

  9. Ok I’m following you now too, but I’m going to have to google “Port Vegas” since I’m from the real Vegas. 😉 I like emoticons too. Is that allowed? I’ll give up amazing for emoticons.

    • Emoticons are AWESOME. 😉

Port Vegas may not exist within the Googlesphere.
