Rainbow Johnson’s Rainbow Sweater
Do you watch Blackish? If not, you should. It’s a good show. It’s smart and funny and sometimes it showcases the best clothes (and sometimes the clothes are out there!).
Last year, Rainbow Johnson (Tracee Ellis Ross) wore the most gorgeous sweater. I felllll in love with it. I searched immediately online for it. It turns out, it’s a Marc Jacobs.
It is sold out at most stores but it is still available on therealreal.com for only $225!
But look how adorable it is.
And, while doing some Google research for this post, I found out that Taylor Swift wore the same sweater (while riding a cat unicorn, nonetheless) during a TV commercial. Apparently, my sweater is super popular.
But, since I don’t have Taylor Swift’s budget OR Tracee Ellis Ross’ budget, I have done some checking on Amazon and found some close calls.
Here’s the white one:
Which one do you like?
(Seriously, I love them both!)
It was an incredibly busy weekend for me and I felt like a complete busy body having not sat still for most of it – and consuming way more chocolate and coffee than I wanted or required. But I’m finally just sacked out on my couch getting some work done and thinking about Christmas. Yep. I’m already there.
I went out fairly early this morning in search of a birthday present and stores were already in full holiday mode with big crowds and long lines. Too much for me, I will admit, on a sunny November morning – the day just after Remembrance Day. But, here I am with another Christmas movie playing in the background while I’m working and whittling away.
I always have loved the hustle and bustle of Christmas and the holidays… I usually love the crowds and the displays and the noise (okay, maybe not so much the noise) and running into a dozen people you know.
And I’m there. For the most part anyway. But today is just too sunny for me (and maybe I’m just too tired from the hustle and bustle of the long weekend) to be venturing out to get some Christmas shopping done. I was in and out of stores like a flash today. I’ll have to save my energy for this coming weekend because I KNOW the hustle is coming up and fast.
Copper Roasting Pan
When I was shopping in the US last month, I spotted a gorgeous copper roasting pan (do I sound like Rachel talking about that gravy boat??). It caught my eye as I was exiting the store and I haven’t stopping thinking about it. I don’t have a clue why, but I really want that roasting pan. And, of course, I can’t find it.
There are tons of copper cookware out there – Copper Chef, Copper Cookware, Gotham Steel – but I haven’t found the roasting pan anywhere. I haven’t even come close.
Whyyyyy can’t I find the one I saw? The one I want? Grrr!
At this point, I think I’d be happy with whatever shape. I mean, I already have a roaster, but the copper one has been calling my name.
A Yellow Coat
I have been wanting that yellow leather jacket from Buffy the Vampire Slayer since I was 15. But I’ve also been on the hunt for a yellow winter coat for a good 10 years now too.
And I’m not super picky…as long it’s the right color of yellow and is long enough to cover my butt, and looks good….I’ll be happy.
Think Faith Hill in her Stealing Kisses video….
Remember – butt and neck need to be warm.
Veronica Beard – Jude Sweater
I love this sweater. It comes in black, white, and forest green. And I love it.
Of course, it is super pricey at $395, but this is a wish list – not a “go out and buy this stuff” list, so it’s a-ok.
Veronica Beard has a lot of cute items in her collection. Check her out:
I am starting early this year. Mostly because I am always getting nagged on that I don’t give people enough time.
The first item on my wish list this year are these loafers by Ted Baker London.
I saw them in a slide and fell in love with them instantly. They are about $175 Canadian. Eep. I’m not holding my breath. But aren’t they gorgeous? (Those frilled pants are pretty cute too!)
I’ve had this book, The Minimalist Baker’s Everyday Cooking, saved to my desktop at work for a long time.
Although I couldn’t really care less about gluten-free recipes, I am really into whole foods and clean eating. I don’t practice clean eating all the time, but I am in love with the Whole 30 program and do it often. In fact, I’m planning on a recharge at the start of the new year (anyone with me??).
This book has tons of plant-based recipes that look pretty easy and delicious. It’s not high on my wish list, but I would love to try out some of the recipes.
When I was in Junior High I was obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the movie, not the shitty TV show – sorry Cat). I was especially into her tough girl-ness, and the fact that she rocked a boxing bag.
My brother has been a boxer since his early teens and I’ve always been a little envious of his boxing equipment. He’s let me utilize some of it in the past, but he’s sort of a grump and I’d rather play with my nephews when I’m there anyway.
Several years ago I started attending kickboxing classes off and on. And I absolutely love it. I still go on occasion, but to be honest, it can get expensive AND when I’m teaching my own classes, I don’t always have the energy to go to other classes (aside from Zumba). But, I love boxing.
So, on my wish list this year, aside from my all my princess gear, I’m adding a free-standing boxing bag.
That way, I can haul it out and workout at home any time I want.
Some of you may not know this about me, but I am a huge Star Wars nerd. I mean, I’m not a super geek or anything, but I grew up watching Stars Wars (likely where my initial love for Harrison Ford began, followed, of course, by Indiana Jones), I played Star Wars with my brother and cousins, I even have a crazy Chewbacca doll from when a Christmas when I was very little ….this one, actually:
And a few weeks ago, while in Florida, I got to meet Chewy himself. It was an incredible moment for us both. 😉
So, for the past couple of years I have been wanting, desperately, a Han Solo cell phone case. I mean, this is pretty much the coolest thing ever created.
I keep going to order one, but never do. I have also been wanting, yet, it remains in my unshipped cart, a Daryl Dixon phone case. Just because it looks super rad (and, of course, because it’s Daryl Dixon):
In the meantime, while I wait patiently for Santa to find me, if you see this guy around, will you send him my way? PLEASE:
Today I put up my Christmas tree. This may be the earliest I’ve put it up but, it has been crappy weather outside, I’m home, and after doing some crazy Black Friday weekend shopping yesterday in the City with the girls (followed by an evening of spicy wine and girl chats) I was kind of in the mood.
So, the tree is up, the presents are underneath (although not yet wrapped), and I did some more shopping this afternoon.
I also got a massive splinter underneath my fingernail in the midst of all this, which is still dug in there and doesn’t seem like it’s planning to vacate itself anytime soon.
But, since I’m at the computer already and basically in the Christmas mood, here is the very first of my Christmas Wish List posts for 2016.
I love bib necklaces. They are the perfect way to make a statement and dress up any outfit.
I have a few “sorta” bib necklaces, but when I visited Amazon recently I was overwhelmed and jealous of all the gorgeous necklaces that popped up. I want one…or two….or a half dozen.
Listen, if anyone out there in WordPress Land wants to indulge me and buy me a bib necklace like these – or any variation – I happily accept.
